A little self-promotion

April 21, 2011

Last week, on Yuri’s Day, I announced on my blog It Doesn’t Have To Be Right… that I would be editing a hard science fiction anthology for Mutation Press. It will be called Rocket Science and will be published in 2012. There is a website here with full details.

This week, I created a blog for the anthology – Rocket Science News. On it, I plan to write about anything relevant which takes my fancy. I’ve already posted a short piece on spaceplanes. And another on a touchstone work I’m currently reading. News about the anthology will also be posted there.

So, if you’re interested in submitting to Rocket Science – and I’m taking non-fiction as well as fiction – or would like to purchase a copy when it’s published next year, keep an eye on Rocket Science News.

The Year in Space

November 30, 2009

… is a useful, fun and informative site, which each week details important space-related events and facts of the past and present. You can either visit the site here, or sign up for a free weekly email newsletter. Each email contains “a photo-essay, daily Moon phases, sky events, space history, holidays, and more”. And there’s a hard-copy desk calender too.

A New Year

January 12, 2009

It was my intention when I started this blog to read a book each month about the space race, and then post a review of it to this blog. Unfortunately, I’ve not managed to keep to that schedule, and there have been a couple of months when nothing has appeared here. Apologies. I’m hoping I’ll be better organised this year, and manage to post more regularly.

Update Coming Soon

October 8, 2008

I’ve been a bit too busy the last couple of months to read and review a book from my collection. While that situation hasn’t really changed, I am currently reading We Have Capture by Tom Stafford. So there will be a new review going up soon.

My Collection

These are the books about space I currently own. Some of them I’ll be writing about on this blog.

Blog Launch

December 20, 2007

This year, my childhood interest in all things space-related was rekindled after reading Jed Mercurio’s Ascent and Andrew Smith’s Moondust. So I started buying books on the subject. I’m going to use this blog for reviews of those books as I read them. I might also throw in the odd post not related to books, but still on the subject of space.
